One other thing if you want to make comparisons and that is they might not get an education but they work their butts off and could show all of us a thing or two. The men have their sawmills and welding shops, the women sew, bake. garden and preserves. They run huge greenhouses as wel. They also run butcher shops, process and have slaughter houses. They do alot of horseshoe and leather harnessing. make furniture ect.... show me a witness who works part time, no education, lives off his parents and doesn't pioneer. Guys the mennonites have most beat by along shot when it comes to farming. In the end I would rather have this kind of tool of the trade where we will possibly have to barter one day with our neighbors. What will we have to offer?

Some of our customers are Amish, old order, modern, ect. When it comes to the excommunication they are marched up the middle of their church, made to sit at the front and then the elder will inform the congregation from the platform what he has done.BUT, he is still allowed to have contact with his relatives (which is almost the entire congregation because they marry first cousins and up). The rest of the congregation who are not family are forewarned to be wise and not associate with this person unless it's business. He told us the JW's are worse than them for shunning. They don't rip families apart. He said he could never be one of us.
Some orders are allowed to have medical insurance some not. If they die then it was meant to be because the lord wanted it that way.One sect is not allowed to have visa or mastercards yet another will say ok. Some have flower dresses and some no pattern. The men get beards once their married. Before they get married they are to leave home and sow their oatsfor one year. They are not allowed to have a telephone in the house but half way down the drive way they can have a telephone installed. Then there's others who have cell phones. Some are allowed hooks on their pants and no zippers allowed. Alot of them are not allowed to take pictures or have cameras. No internet. Funny thing I was asked if I could see if there are apostate websites on the Amish. Some sects are allowed rubber tires while others have to have the steel tires on their buggies.
Alot of them make their own booze and summersausage in their barns. What ticks people off here is as long as they say the summersausage is made for their families then they don't need any inspection yet you'll see them at the markets selling their meats. Someone gets sick they point their fingers at the next guy. That's why unpasturized cook cheese has been outlawed because of salmonela.
The woman aren't allowed to cut their hair and when they wear the black bonnets it's to be a protection while they are out in the gloomy world. When they get home they can wear their white bonnets. They say this is how they stand out amongst the world. They also feel they are keeping their lives simple.
Only the elder is allowed to have the book and it is not a bible. This is the Dave Martin mennonites. Others use the King James. The Dave Martin women are not allowed to have the bible. I told one why is Esther and Ruth in the bible then. I do have to admit they dont rely on the outside if they can help it but they do ALOT of charity relief work. They will go into all the hotels and pick up soap, shampoos, comforters, sheets, shower caps ect and send it to the third world countries. We have the mennonite relief sales raiseing money and awareness to the third world countries. They have missionaries and they do adopt alot of children from orphanages.
Also, if a barn burns the whole mennonite community comes together and will have another barn put up at the end of the month. I know we've had tornados rip through here and noone even bothered to call to see if we were ok. The witnesses lose by a long shot on that one. I can't say we've ever seen the kind of united brotherly love you see amongst the mennonites here in the organisation. When someones sick they get meals for three months but in the JWs nothing. Only their precious elders and ms's get the attention.
But the mennonites are not allowed to question their beliefs or they also get a judicial committee at their doors, Twice a year they hit the big cities with tracts and hand them out mostly in prostitute districts. One mennonite was asked if he were a jw. The women are not allowed to go. Education up to grade eight and then they farm but there are some mennonite school teachers but don't know what their crudentials are.
There is quite abit of incest that does go on. We witnessed that first hand with two of our neighbors. One got sent to jail for three months and the other is dead but he raped his daughter and she had the child who has a rare blood disorder along with having to wear a catherder for life. She stands four feet at the most and is about twelve. Really cute little girl but with major kidney and other disorders. Has had upteen surgeries as well.

by label licker injust wondering if your name describes what you saw, how you were treated when you were "in" or now "out", maybe your personality, ect.... i'm label licker and the why i picked this name was because of all the licking up one side of elders and down the other to either be an elder or ministerial servant.
one time i was standing right in front of this brother who wasn't made an ms yet and he totally ignored me and talked right over my head speaking really loud trying to catch the co's attention.. got sick of watching the poor elderly sitting all alone or standing against the wall like a wall flower with noone to talk to and yet all these label lickers would take turns picking up the elders elderly parents and take them shopping and do their groceries at least four times a week while out in service, yet, there was noone there to take a meal to a sister who just got out of the hospital with a heart attack.
when i had shown up at her apartment with a meal she asked if i could wash her private and change her bandages.

The elder takes them into the second school to work out the paperwork. The guy is too lazy or doesn't have the time to go over to their homes and do it.

Why couldn't it be the holy ones that fell out of their tombs? It was all at the same time there was an earth quake and Jesus went up to his father and took the firstfruits with him. On the day of festival of first fruits. Remember noone could touch him for he had not ascended to his father yet and days later Thomas could touch him. Doesn't say how many holy ones rolled out of their graves. It never made sense to me that oh there was an earthquake they went into the city after they rolled out of their graves. The words the holy ones is what made me think why couldn't Jesus and the holy ones ascend at the same time.

this question to finally find out if they should be df or not (terms and conditions apply and are subject to favouritism or who your family are).. we all know too well that the gb arrogantly do claim to be god's channel in their pope like status.. however, when they are made to look like arses they suddenly become 'just imperfect men doing their best...where else will you go?'(r).

Are you kidding me? The last day we were in the hall the cobe came up to me and asked if he could see the both of us in the woodshed and I said no due the last time when we got a talking to for helping someone who asked for our help and then abused their elderly parent with dimentia and in diapers. That's for another day. So the elder goes on to ask me right at door entrance where everyone is coming and going if we are questioning the fds. After lurking on this site we remembered that if we are ever approached with any questions from elders to answer back with a question and they will freeze frame so we did. We asked why would you ever say that and the next words out of his mouth was well you know you don't have to believe that Jesus was Michael in order to get baptised. We both went WHAT THE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that was it.
Next local needs there was a talk on apostacy which we were not there for and haven't been back for nine months with no shepherding calls nothing. And we didn't get df'd or put on reproof but from that moment on no phone calls from noone just two beautiful handwritten cards saying our comments are missed at the hall
A clever answer I would give now is "you tell me who you think the fds is and does it come invisibly like Jesus did in 1914? Next they will say that Jesus is sitting at their right hand at their table along with the fds and will make sure they pull out the big chair for him at the head of the table with the puffed up arrogant cobe at the other end

Oh, new rules to field circus. We go shopping, visit friends who are already in, go for breakfast, Pull over and eat lunch, head back for another drink, drive out to countryside to see who your next rv will be, drive back to the city and do a driveby, go back to hall and use washroom, kill twenty minutes looking at backboard, and stop fifteen minutes early and call that your full day out in service. Oh what am I saying, that's what they do now. Or would there be field service? Knowing Mouthy she would say yeah and call it picketing!

BRAVO BRAVO Blondie Every stinkin comment you made happened to us in the 8-9 years we were in this religion. The kicker> we were only in two halls. We saw every rule broke in the book except murder and always from the ones taking the lead or their kids. I guess that's why when Jesus comes back the judgeing will start with the ones taking the lead first. So glad I'm a lost sheep:)

I abhore cliques. That in itself is emotional abuse for the lowly one and these little morons the abusers are blessed with rewards. Feel sorry for them for they are getting their reward in full NOW as Jesus would say to the pharisees. Society starts it with assigning labels and then it trickles down to the elders who promote it. How? Most commonly with the elders wives who dictate to their husbands who they will only work with out in service along who should be appointed. God help the poor person that is being studied with by the elders wives( usually some parents kid who comes back in the fold) for they will be used at every assembly with two or three parts just in one afternoon session. They will be smothered by that elders wife and only her friends and so that poor individual will never know things like widening out, agappe love, not showing favoritisim ect,,,, The same goes for our cobe who takes all the ms's out on his boat or has pool parties with only the elders, ms's, pioneers and their close friends. Just remembering those things would crush my heart. You could see the pecking orders and any left over crumbs would go to the publishers. What were the crumbs? It was having to hear all about the good times they had the next day out in service. It's pretty bad when your cobe announces from the platform these words: "I don't want anyone here tonight to think there was any simoney going on but so and so is now a ministerial servant." Meanwhile the kid was only eighteen years old, looked after the cobes house and dog while he was on holidays,pioneered, joined the RBC ect now he's twenty expecting his first kid. Can't do any of that stuff anymore. Again, this kid was right out of the world but was bestfriends with one of the elders wifes study(who also got pregnant after hubby was made ms) so all these kiddy studies coming in make the elders look like they are doing their jobs to the CO's. Then, they are rewarded with labels. Just from one elders wifes study, five of her buddies were made ms's within the same year. We couldn't stay and watch it anymore. It's pretty bad when all of them live on the same street as the elder that studied with them. One of them has alot of mental problems ( he's thirty but has the maturity of a fifteen years old) and none of them work even parttime and the scary part is this is the next generation to take the lead? That's the click that's in our hall. It's really too bad.
